Pros: Fuel economy, comfort, style, pricing
Cons: I haven't found any
Having had a sportster 1200, which always seemed repairs for some danged, thing I took to the web to research the reviews on other Cruisers. My Son has a Vulcan Classic 800 and loves his. I was torn between the Honda Shadow and the Vulcan 500. Everything you read about the seat is right, and what sold me in the end when it came down to make the final purchase.
I never found speed to be a problem, be it on the highway or interstate. And right again, no one believes it is a 500 engine. It keeps right up there with the big boys of the road.
The bike just looks good, feels good, rides good! It is reliable. I have never been stranded or had it break down.
Just do the normal maintenance and you will keep cruising right along.
I am a woman rider, 5'7" at 125 lbs. I too added saddlebags for taking those longer trips. I also added a small bug shield (as I think the big ones look gawd awful on these bikes.)
I can't say much more except I love this bike and am glad that I chose the EN Vulcan 500. I don't think I will ever own any other type of bike and when it is time for a new one, will definitely go to the Kawasaki Dealer and buy a brand new one.
So, ladies and new riders, this is an excellent choice. It impressed my Son and Brother too, so you do NOT have have those qualifications to enjoy this bike. And, you will never feel ashamed of your Vulcan 500. No one will guess it is that small.
