Pros: Nice blue color. Light and agile. Fun to ride.
Cons: No oil pressure after 2,400 miles less than a year after buying it new.
I bought my 2005 Vulcan 8/13/05 and loved it. Follwed the break in to the T and changed the oil at 500 miles using ginuine Kawasaki oil. Rode it to work often and on the freeway just a little. In july of 06 I started to hear a funny slight whistling noise. I told passenger riders about it that had rode before the noise appeared and they told me I was crazy. July 20th with 2,450 miles on it, both the oil pressure and engine temp light came on. I called the dealer they said to bring it in and that it would be warranty repair. It has been there 8 weeks today and they have only determined that it has no oil pressure. The mechanic says that there is a pin in the oil pump that commonly comes out on these engines. They told me that they have to split the case to get to the oil pump and they still havn't started on it. I miss my bike. I really liked it. I'm tired of hearing excuses of why they havn't started to work on it after 8 weeks. I don't think it's fair that I pay a payment and insurance each month and still have nothing to ride. I'll never buy another kawasaki again. I have owned yamaha, honda, and suzuki with no problems. I thought all Japanese bikes were about the same and it was all good. Not true. This bike really let me down!!!
