| p14001's Full Review: 2000 Kymco Filly 50 |
I bought the Kymco People 50 one month ago and have been using it to ride all over Baltimore. Obviously I haven't had it long enough to judge whether it will have long-term reliability, but I know of nobody who has one taking it to the shop for repairs.
It is quick off the line and is quite comfortable for city riding. I bought the buddy seat and have hauled my friends and wife around. Everyone who rides it comments on how comfortable and quick it is.
The styling is sort of a modern retro and gets looks and comments every time I'm out riding it.
The only complaint that I could make (and I wouldn't unless pressed - or trying to offer a complete review of this product) is that after a few months the top speed dropped by 5 mph - however, I suspect that this is still one of the fastest scooters out there.
I really couldn't be any happier with this product.
2005 Review Update - after 4 years of use this bike remained virtually maintenance free. Very cheap to fuel, insure and ride!
I sold this scooter last month (first child arrived and wife put the foot down) and got $1400 cash for it - so it seems to hold its value pretty well.
