Polaris 500 ---- Do not buy!!!!!!!

The Bottom Line: DO NOT BUY !!! You will have trouble shifting - burning belts It will not idle !! The EBS is designed poorly
red4945's Full Review: 2000 Polaris Sportsman 500
Polaris has a problem with shift linkage which allows the transmission to get stuck in-between gears. This will burn the belt causing non-warranty covered belt replacement.
There also is a problem with the EBS, which drags the engine, at idle. The end result is a worn out starter.
Polaris will not (or cannot)repair these problems
All 500s have this problem.
I have 300 miles on my Sportsman and have already gone through 2 belts.
This is NOT!!!!! a case of using high gear when low should be used. Every dealer WILL BLAME THE CUSTOMER if given the opportunity.
