| battosai's Full Review: 2000 Suzuki KATANA 600 |
I bought my katana last year. It was brand new (showroom condition)it was/is my first sportsbike and I love it. It handles great, even in town (traffic), great for long rides (although i might get gel seats, but stock are fine and it is one of the most comfortable bike there is out there)It has enough power and speed for poeple who haven't been on bigger/faster bikes...then u might consider the 750 or another bike, but then again (your insurance money would cost ya lots more so...), but in all...it is awesome. I've brought it up to 220+/-Km/hour so you have plenty of speed. It's very friendly bike an will forgive most inexperience beginner errors, on the downside, it's a bit heavy as a bike (don't go thinking that you'll be able to pop wheelies with this bike just by pulling back on the throttle (u cant, the only way really is to pop the clutch, but thats not recommended and u want your bike to stay firmly planted anyways, so moving on)also, it's a bit high (as in the seat) so shorter drivers or inexpereiences one could find it a bit intimidating, but once you've saddled it and ran few hundred miles with it...it becomes second nature and really, you'll enjoy the ride it provides. So in all, i like it and i would refommend it, just take this into consideration though, it's not a 600 that can burn anything at a red light(2 wheels here...with the kat any 4 wheel in dust in your rearview miror), it's a sports touring bike very versitle, easy and fun bike. So if you're not looking into getting the latest busa or gixxer nor anything else that would cost you more anyway (if u can, u can go ahead, nothing wrong with those bikes)but what you will get, is a very affordable, able, fast (u know what i mean...dont start comparing to other 600) and fun bike...this is the bike for you. One last note though, i find that the katana is very quiet bike and im thinking of putting a yoshimura pipe on it to make it sound better. anyways with that said, have a great season, ride hard, but ride safe.
