| deanbar's Full Review: 2000 Suzuki MARAUDER 800 |
Everyone knows that most stock seats suck .. The Marauder seat is no exception. I took a 800 mile round trip on mine..and was in agony at first. Finally, I learned to lean back and the whole character of the bike changed. Once I got back I immediately started shopping for an aftermarket seat..and found MUSTANG seats. This makes an immense improvement. The bike will turn on a dime..when you are in the proper riding position. If you try to sit up straight on it...its a slug..rack back and its a dream I paid $4000 for the bike in July '00 with only 1100 miles on it. The previous owner had installed Jardine pipes and added some Sam n Willie bags. By Dec '00 I had run the odometer up to 5700 miles I replaced the rear tire with a Metzler 880 (stabillity and handling are even better now ). The bike loves to run at 85+ but is very comfortable at lower speeds also. BTW, I am six four and weigh two hundred fifty pounds. The only problem with vibration has been with the headlight..I tightened up the set screw and inserted a piece of rubber inner tube and solved the problem. "Why did you buy this motorcycle?" Frankly, I bought the bike because the price was right and the chrome makes it stand out. "Who should buy this motorcycle?" Anyone who wants a high quality, very reliable bike. "Who shouldnt?" Anyone who wants to blow another 10k on a name. I dare you to try to find anything else this good anywhere close to this price. There is even a helpful owners group at www.migcruisers.com.
