Pros: Style/Power/Price/Reliability
Cons: The stock seat is very stiff on long rides
The Bottom Line: Very good medium sized, great looking, dependable bike for the right money. Actually small enough for relative beginners but big enough to hang on to for a while.

| quikdrawmagraw's Full Review: 2000 Suzuki MARAUDER 800 |
I took a friend's new Marauder for a spin in '99. I then shopped around and found a used '97 with 1800 miles on it, better after market mufflers and a jet kit. just about Every time I take it out I get compliments about it. People often mistake it for a Harley (I usually make a comment about it being a cruiser for people who already have a mortgage).
It's never given me any trouble. I did replace the 15 tooth sproket with a 17 tooth (about $20). I replaced the stock seat, which turns to stone after about an hour, with a gel pad seat. The aftermarket seat positioned me foreward about 2 inches so I dropped a couple hundred on a set of forward controls from Bikercom.com.
I've run this bike through Providence & Boston traffic, the White Mountains of New Hampshire, and Laconia bike week for the past four years. Never a problem. After upgrading the carbs/mufflers/sprocket/& seat the only complaint I have is I have to stop and fill the tank about every 110 miles.
