Pros: Affordable classic cruiser loaded with curb appeal
Cons: Bad riding position, asthmatic at hiway speed
The Bottom Line: A real looker with lots of power. Great mid-level bike choice if you don't want to ride another Honda.

| kenofseattle's Full Review: 2000 Suzuki MARAUDER 800 |
I bought a 1998 a couple years ago and use it to rip around town. Mine is cream over red. The paint is what made me get the wallet out at the Suzuki dealership. It reminds me of a Chevy Corvette on two wheels. Classic retro drag-bike styling including a ton of chrome, big headlight ring, low seat height, and drag bars. I have gotten more compliments around town riding this mean little 800 than I have on any other bike.
Around town you'll look quick and enjoy the boost whenever you crack the throttle. It's right there, and doesn't let up. It's got a chain drive, so be careful to adjust and lubricate often - especially if you like those hot starts like I do. The seating position will wear on you after an hour. Move up to a Corbin seat, and get a windshield on the hiway. The Corbin is a must if you plan to haul a pasenger. The rear pill is just that, and I hear the grumbling when I press the matter. Also, it could use a taller top gear to cut down vibes at 60+.
Overall a super bike for running around. Very quick, plenty of brakes, easy handling, and you will enjoy the constant compliments.
