| al471's Full Review: 2000 Triumph Daytona 955i |
I purchased a 2000 Daytona 955i and I must say that after owning a Ducati, Kawasaki, and a Yamaha I can classify the bike as good all around. It's got plenty of power, trani is "ok" neutral is impossible to find sometimes.
It's not as nimble as a 636 let's say, but if you are an intermediate to an experience rider, with the right set up this bike can carve the canyons like no other. Brakes are good as well. I will agree that parts are hard to get. One warehouse in the whole country! not good at all. Think about buying one do to the parts situation. I recently broke a couple of quick release fittings that mount to the fuel lines(trying to remove gas tank) and I'm already starting to feel regret. If you don't mind having your bike parked for a few weeks due to shortage of parts, buy one, if not stay away. Nothing more aggravating than waiting for parts, I know, I worked in the Auto parts biz for years. The bike is not the problem, it's the parts issue for me. Things are going to brake, and you will need to order them and wait.
