Its title of Cruiser of the Year given to it by two top well known motorcylce magazines was no fluke.

| wvmtn91955's Full Review: 2000 Yamaha Road Star |
This is by far the greatest motorcycle I have ever owned or rode. I have rode several makes and models with varying engine displacements and accessories. The Yamaha Roadstar is by far the greatest value on the market today. This is the first bike I have been serious enough about to spend any amounts of money on customizing it to my wants and tastes. It comes with a 12mth. unlimited mileage warranty and has an additional 48mths. unlimited mileage extended warranty that can be purchased for as low as $370 (may vary with dealer). A total of 5yrs. with unlimited mileage will give you that piece of mind while you are working out those payments. It is dependable and the quality is unsurpassed by any other major motorcycle manufacturer.
The Roadstar handles well in the curves and eats the open highway like a malnourished pig would eat slop. At speeds of 75mph and 80mph it is smooth with very little vibration to be felt. The seat is good for all day and there has been no complaints from my wife on her seat. For added rider comfort a set of handlebar risers is recommended to move the stock handlebars a bit closer to the driver which enables you to sit up a little straighter in the saddle. An available backrest for the driver is also recommended and this bike is ready to be ridden all day.
The Roadstar is recommended for that rider looking for quality and value without spending his life savings. It is well liked and its craftsmanship draws attention. If you are afraid of torque then the Roadstar is not for you. This bike produces right at 99ft.lbs. at just 2250rpms. The Roadstar has potential for any combination of customizing or accessorizing that an individual would have in mind. A good deal of manufacturers have discovered that potential and jumped on the opportunity to manufacture accessories. This will be my last bike because there's nothing else I desire in a motorcyle. The Roadstar delivers all.
