This four wheeler has been great to me and has left me no ideas of buying anything but a Honda. If you where lucky enough to purchase one of the recons in 2001 that had a side ways engine for an extra 50 cc boost you are lucky. The boost has made my recon go from just a 250 cc play toy to a 300 cc power machine. This machine has served me well in work and play and I would recommend this model recon SP to anyone purchasing a four wheeler for hard work and Recreation. The 300cc Sp model pulls more than its own weight and is also great for the kids to play on if you have to purchase a used four wheeler I would definitely look for this model for the 50 cc boost for HP and speed.
If you do however happen to have the LX stock engine the recon still provides great fun and power but not as much on the heavy work side of the triangle.The stock recon is an excellent buy and for all the 250-300cc engines i have looked at the recon takes the cake and scores a 9 1/2 of 10 to the closest yamaha Bear tracker scoring an 8. so if you want best bang for your buck buy a honda recon and i can guarentee you will be satisfied and so will the kids.
