| RbrtSour's Full Review: 2001 Yamaha Grizzly |
The 2000 Grizzly from Yamaha is a large, top heavy, very fast machine. Yamaha has developed this quad so as to allow the rider to live in the best of both worlds. World 1 being sport, and 2 being utility. The power on command by the rider is exceptiona. You can roll from 35 to 55 almost telapahicly. My son and I ride together, he has a 125 Yamaha Breeze and I have the Grizzly. He is 11 I am 42. The Grizzly is definatly a bike for a man. If you torture the machine and ride it fast expecially in the woods you have to work to keep the machine on track as it will go exactly where you point it. My machine is outfitted with 2 KC daylighters, (55 watts per at 250,000 candle power) It also has four fog/driving lights on the front rack and two 55 watt utility lights under the rear rack. I use the lights on the rear to hook up the trailer (6 by 12) that we haul both of these units on. This is way beyond the rating on the alternator and way beyond the amperage output. However, if I shut the rest of the bike lights down it keeps up very well.I have been unable to find anything (except for a peat bog) that will stop the Grizzly. I have never found "the bottom" of this machine. So far, I am happy with it, and beleive me I have pushed it a plenty. (659 miles to date) I am a sales manager for an aerospace company so this provides me with a great escape and lowers the blood pressure quicky. If you want the monster ATV the Grizzly delivers.
