| fmano's Full Review: 2001 Yamaha Grizzly |
I bought my 1999 Yamaha Grizzly new at a local dealership. The reason I bought this particular atv was the features. It has a 600cc engine that gives you all the power you could ever need,it can go from 2 to 4 wheel drive at the push of a button also it has one important feature for me the throttle limiter I can set the throttle to what I desire for my children to ride and not worry about them having all that power under them. When my kids ride it I have it set to where it runs like a 100cc atv would run.
I myself have been riding some form of motorcycle all my life so naturally I love the power this way it will function for the whole family. I love the way that it tows a loaded trailer around when im working,It makes an awesome snowplow in the winter and when I get with my friends and ride it makes a super sport machine,You won`t believe the way this thing kicks butt in 2 wheel drive and when the need arises and it will,Just push a button and you have a 4 wheel drive ready for anything.
I have to tell you the one downside to the grizzly it is somewhat top heavy compared to most others, but a well seasoned rider knows how to compensate for this glitch in the Yamaha design. I personally helped mine alot with going to a wider style tire than the factory puts on it. I have to compliment Yamaha on the suspension of the Grizzly it rides like a Cadillac you can ride in comfort all day. I think the people who should be looking to buy this atv should be experienced riders only and need a combination work and play machine. I would not recommend this machine for beginners of a young age or careless riders.
