Pros: Lightweight, Suspension, 4x4
Cons: Needs a speedometer
The Bottom Line: It's not a tree stump puller, so get a utility for that. But you can throw some stuff on the racks and go have some good quality fun.

| hedup's Full Review: 2001 Yamaha Wolverine |
Like many of Yamaha's other ATV's, this one is great. I have been everywhere from rock crawling, to the sand dunes, to snow, to mud, and the average trail riding. I was kinda worried when I bought it because it did not have a low range. But I haven't needed a low range. It has a lot of torque. It's lighter than every other sport utility in it's class. The full time four wheel drive makes the handling excellent. Wherever you steer, it will pick that line and go. It's decent in snow, about as good as any 4x4 ATV will do. So far it's taken every thing that I have dished out. I haven't had one mechanical problem with it either. Another nice thing about the Wolverine is that there are almost as many after market parts for it as there are for the Warrior. After reading some of the other reviews, from people who don't even own one, I noticed that one guy made it sound like the wolverine should be more sporty, and one guy made it sound like it should be more utility. If it had any more sport it would be a sport, and if it had any more utility it would be a utility. One of them also said that the engine would break, and he compared it to a two cycle out of a Banshee and a Blaster. This is a four cycle engine 348cc, proven to be reliable since it came out in the Warrior. Go look at the high ratings on the Warrior. It's virtually the same as the Wolverine, without the 4x4, and drive shafts.
