| dan243's Full Review: 2001 Yamaha Wolverine |
My brother in law bought the wolverine when i bought my yamaha grizzly. It is basically a 4x4 yamaha warrior, except it has shaft drive, different carburator, different gear box and a automatic clutch.
The wolverine is more comfortable then the warrior and the suspension seems to be plusher. We drag raced the wolverine with the warrior and they stayed neck and neck up until fourth gear. The warrior has a little more top end, but the wolverine has four wheel drive that weighs it down abit more. If you are going to do alot of winter riding, hill climbing, and pulling then i suggest the wolverine. The only thing the warrior really has over the wolverine is it does wheelies alittle easier.
When ridding with other machines the wolverine stands its grounds. It is alot easier to manuever it through narrow paths the my yamaha grizzly, but the grizzly is much more powerful and you really can't compare a 600cc to a 350cc,but the wolverine does hold its own ground. The wolverine also is excellent in water,as long as the water is beneath the exhaust it will keep moving.
If you want a good all around machine and you don't want to pay $6700.00 for a grizzly then i would buy this model.
