Pros: POWER, poise, smoothness, handling looks...everything?
Cons: Power may be too much for some, not for novices
The Bottom Line: If you respect this bike's power and want to really enjoy a superb machine, you really can't go wrong with the 1100xx. You won't be sorry!

| howieinva's Full Review: 2003 Honda CBR1100XX |
I could go on and on about my '03 CBR1100xx about how great it is. But I'll just highlight things here. Let's start with the negatives. It will not carve corners like a 350-450lb. supersport bike. It's a sport tourer and weighs around 500lbs dry. It handles incredibly and feels nimble but if it's a corner carving hardcore supersport you want, you'd be better off with something else.
But if you want insane power, decent comfort, and very respectable handling all rolled up in one package with Honda reliability, the XX is it!
It does EVERYTHING well if not awesome. The seating position may be a bit too forward for some. I put VFR bars on mine which raised the bars and made it a bit more upright. The seating is not as upright as most "sport tourers". If you want really upright seating, go with something else like a Yamaha FJR1300. However, you'll probably find like I did that the forward riding position on the XX is quite adaptable and feels "right" on a bike like this and it's not nearly as extreme as many supersport bikes (ie. Yamaha R1, or Suziki GSXR).
A word of caution: This bike is RIDICULOUSLY quick. It's very smooth with fuel injected power but still dangerously fast. Any idiot can smash the throttle and get themselves killed. If you're a very inexperienced rider or don't really know what the hell you're doing...or have little self control...start with something a bit less powerful than an XX and move up to it later.
