| craigs1600's Full Review: 2003 Kawasaki Vulcan 1600 Classic |
In September of '03 I purchased my first motorcycle ever. It was A Kawasaki Vulcan 800 Classic. I knew nothing about motorcycles at the time. Purchased solely on looks and price. Turns out I have knack for choosing a good bike. I loved everything about it. Was just a little small in displacement for constant interstate riding. Since then I have been doing research on cruisers of all brands and sizes and labeled the Vulcan 1600 Classic as my "Dream Bike". I found a dealer that had a new '03 1600 Classic ridiculously marked down (May of '04) Couldn't resist. With some regret I traded my 800 in on my "Dream Bike" and rode the 1600 325 miles from dealer to home. YEEEEEE! HAW! It is everything I expected and more. The handling is unbelievably nimble, u-turns (within 15' radius) are as easy as they were on the 800, torque is sufficient as is and can be improved upon by aftermarket accessories. People are going out of there way to check it out when in parking lots. Turns heads going down the road. Has just the right amount of vibration with a pleasant exhaust note that, too can be improved upon with aftermarket. To sum it up it is a dream come true!
