I have been riding the Honda Shadow Spirit 1100 for the past two years and was not happy with the limited power, range and weight. I shopped for Yamaha Roadstar 1700 and found it to expensive for what you get. I looked at the Honda VTX 1300 and for $8500 it just didn't impress me. I looked at the Harley 1200 and for $9200 it was to small for my 6-2 250lb frame. I checked the Suzuki 1500 Boulevard and it was a nice bike but for $10500 I thought they should have a bigger tank than 3.7 gals. I was ready to give up and look at used machines until I was told to check out the Kawasaki line. I went to the dealer and they had the 1600 classic brand new for $8499! I told them I wanted pipes, windshield, saddlebags and a back rest and they made me a deal for a total of $9800! I am still surprised that I got this bike for that price! This beast is great. It has plenty of power, the pipes sound great and it fits me. I still get the comments from the Harley owners, but bla bla who cares. I will put the extra money to good use. Next year I plan to put on the power commander for Fuel Injection and the custom air cleaner and possibly the Hyper charger. My only complaints or more suggestions to the Kawasaki designers would be custom paint standard and floor boards for the passenger standard. Oh and the gas cap whines after riding for a while. I will keep this bike for a while....
