We've owned a 2004 Honda Pilot since we purchased it new. We've never grown to love this car as we have other Hondas we've owned, and we've put over 80,000 miles on it. The A/C system is heinous. It stinks like fungus, and repeated trips to the dealer to fix it have yielded no results. You see, the A/C turns on automatically every time you turn the fan on, or press any button at all on the controls. Whether you're heating or cooling the car, the A/C turns on. You continually have to press the A/C button to turn it off. This keeps a constant state of moisture in the system. Unless you like the smell of mold, fungus, and mildew, I'd keep looking for another car. The terrible smell eventually seeps into your leather seats, making the purchase and use of an ozonator mandatory. We've had a few mechanical issues with it as well, nothing major, but mysteriously, even with the extra 100,000 mile warranty, nothing ever seems to be "covered." The seats are uncomfortable as well. The only reason we've kept the car this long is the navigation system. It's the main reason to buy this car. Wonderful toy, surpassed only by our Acura's nav. But we will be trading in this car soon, and try to find one that isn't stinky.
