All reviews should be like this --- well detailed with usable information for someone who is considering the product. I don't even own a motorcycle and haven't ridden one in years. But should I jump in the market, I'd print this review out and carry it in my back pocket while looking for Ninja 500.

Agreed here. Your review was "fantastic", and certain to not be underrated... full of detail, good insight, and great writing style. Refreshing to see around here!
Thanks very much and write again when you can.

Kudos on your detailed review, this is exactly what I like to read when looking for info on a prospective purchase. I'm definitely more of a cruiser guy (instead of sport bikes), and I'm deeply in love with my Honda Shadow Aero 1100.
However, your description of your 500R's handling is making me a little jealous. The other bike I liked before my Shadow was the Suzuki SV650-S, sport bike handling with everyday comfort. Maybe someday I'll have a 2-bike garage. :)
Take care, and be careful... it's a dangerous road out there.
