Pros: Good low end torgue and power to feel as much larger bike.
Cons: no radio
Best bang for the money. I have a 2002 Volusia and the only thing I had to replace was both tires and a battery. I do change the oil & filter. It looks, rides and accelerates like a much larger bike. It does not have the power robbing counter balancers, but still a very smooth running engine. Has very good balance and easy to handle. It has the big bike look without the weight which makes city driving nice. Acommodates a passenger with no problem. The bike has floor boards, heel/ toe shifter, windshield, saddle bags, passenger back rest, engine guard and custom grips. I have gotten a lot of nice comments about this bike and most people think it is an HD. HD & Volusia owners would know it is not an HD unless they were at a distance, but people that have not been around bikes in a while can not believe it is a Volusia.
Gas mileage is excellent and 4 1/2 gallon tank will give you a lot of miles between stops. The instrumentation is on the gas tank and it has a gas guage also. This is consider a middle weight bike and it has won the comparison review with all other bikes in this class. It actually looks bigger then the others in a comparison tests.
