Opinion Summary
Equinox: Class, Performance, and Value
by ucdavisboy | Apr 16 '04
Pros: It does everything so well that it makes the entire ownership experience great
Cons: Again, the steering, just a little too soft. Needs a telescoping wheel.

Equinox steering (Reply to this comment)
by don-in-ohio
I have owned a 2005 Equinox for several months and have just one complaint. The steering. I'm still not used to it. When turning a sharp corner I have to slow down more than in all the other cars I have driven.

Telescoping Wheel (Reply to this comment)

I totally agree. They did it for the Malibu, why not the Equinox. I'm 6'2", with long arms! and I have to drive with my knees almost against the dash, practically, to be close enough to drive with one hand. It's annoying.

Tail lamps (Reply to this comment)

Those clear tail lamps are Japanese in inspiration, not European.

Chevy claims 0-60 in 8.5 seconds. I'm not sure where you're getting under 8 from. (I assume that what you mean--this sentence could also be clearer.)

When you say xyz is best-in-class, which competitors have you driven? Specific comparisons are always helpful.

What MPG have you observed, and in what mix of driving?

Overall, very good review.
