He Who Dares Win!

Pros: Innovating and daring style. Fully equipped and priced to beat the competitors. Lots of power.
Cons: Sluggish transmission and concerns about the braking system. Not economical to run.
The Bottom Line: Aside for the lazy transmission and my worries for the braking system, I believe that once accepted by consumers Chrysler has a winner with the 300C.

CHRYSLER 300C 2005

He Who Dares Win!

Firstly, I have to say that I was very impressed by the daring style and the performance of this car and this first impression was sufficient to realize that Chrysler had once again done something different than their automotive competitors.

It is not the first time that this manufacturer tries to impress with bold styling and with the 300C, I believe that they are pushing the risk to the maximum. It is known that when a company pushes the limit they either flop or win big. My opinion on this is that with the 300C, Chrysler has a winner. Time will tell if Chrysler and my opinion is right.

Innovative Design…

A modern style with a touch of the sixties, I believe is the best way the appearance of the Chrysler 300C. An oversized body mounted on 18 inch wheels, topped with undersized windows gives this car a very distinctive appearance. It is a style that some consumer will love, while others may not be impressed with it. I personally do like it and I believe it to be well balanced.

The Interior.

The interior cabin is very impressive. The materials used for the interior of the 300C are top quality and the workmanship is exceptional. The gauges are LCD and are easy to read day or night.

The audiophiles will love the 300C sound system. It is a 380-Watt Boston Acoustic system that will thrill the occupants with a sound of superior quality coming from the speakers.

If one word can describe the inside of this car, it would have to be roomy. As for the front of the car, passenger will be very comfortable sitting in the back of the 300C.

All the controls are easy to reach and the gauges are also easily visible for the driver.

The engine.

The 300C is equipped with a powerful V-8 Hemi engine that develops 340-horsepower. This will allow you to do 0 to 60 in 5.8 seconds. I do not think that there are many comparable models from rival manufacturer that can compete with it.

If I noticed anything wrong with the way it handled, it has to be with the transmission. The transmission seemed to be slow to react to the engine when trying to pass. I am certain this is something Chrysler will improve in the future.

The car I drove was AWD, this will lower your miles per gallon average. Rear wheel drive models are also available for those that are ecologically minded.

With the Hemi engine you will have more than all the power necessary for highway driving. When you will need to overtake another car, a slight pressure on the accelerator will power the car past the others you are trying to overtake. The drive is smooth and dead quiet.

Suspension and Brakes.

The 300C comes equipped with 4 disc brakes with ABS and the suspension has components of the old Mercedes class E suspension. This will give you a very smooth ride and the car corners well. Being that this car is so heavy, I am somewhat worried with the brakes. I believe this is something watch for.

This car is a dream for highway driving or to take the family for a long trip on a far away favorite vacation spot. Due to the oversize of the 300C driving within on city street can be tricky, especially when it comes time for parallel parking, For a tight turn, the 300C handles like and old camel.
