| hawk0357's Full Review: 2005 Yamaha Majesty |
Got the Majesty on 11/29/2004.
I did alot of research on the Majesty and others and choose the majesty
based on
the
research and then finalized my research decision with a close up of
the bike at
a
dealer. I think the Majesty quality is obvious and much richer than
the other
scoots
out there, that it appears in all regards that I am getting more for
my money or
that
the Yamaha when compard to the competition is more correctly priced to
the
others
being overly priced. It is taller than the Reflex and leg room is more
generous. It is
heavier but so well balanced that you won't be bothered by it. It
rides much
smoother because of the weight first and then because of a better
suspension and
larger and wider wheels. It has a wider seat and I noticed more
support right
away in
the hamstring area of my legs- this seat is so much more comfortable
and more
supportive, I really love that. The power compared to the Reflex-
well, I
don't believe
there is any comparison. The Majesty is very, very powerful. There is
no lag
like the
Reflex has. Power and/or acceleration is there right now and I mean
so. You
could
be going 75 or 80 miles an hour according to the Majesty speedo and
give it gas
and
you will notice you have alot more power to go. Quite impressive
indeed! The
underseat storage is gigantic!!! I had on my Reflex a GIVI topcase,
and a GIVI
tank
bag. The storage is so much on the Majesty that I don't believe I will
need to
even
consider a top case or tank bag. I have not checked for miles per
gallon yet so
I don't
know what that will show but I have heard of people getting about 50
miles per
gallon,,,,,I suppose I should get between 45 - 50 mpg. I liked the
Reflex and
believe
still that is is a fine bike. I work two jobs though and commute about
100
miles five
days a week. I was running the flex near it's top end power limits and
wondered
how
long could the engine put up with that. Like I am asking the bike to
do what it
was
not really designed for. I am on the interstates/freeways and wanted
to be able
to
easily move at 70 miles and hour,,,I desired to be able to pass a
semitrailer
easily
and quickly and that I would not have to worry about if I was going to
be able
to do
that if I was driving into the wind. I did have afew times when it
would have
been
safer to accelerate instead of braking,,,,but I was always having to
apply
brakes cause
acceleration just wasn't there. None of that are issues now that I
have the
Majesty.
The maint or service intervals and such are really good also. I
believe Majesty
is even
comparable to the Silverwing. I saw it side by side at the dealer
where I
bought. I
believe Majesty outdoes the Swing, can do all I need it to for like
2000.00 less
dollars!
I also think the Majesty is just plain awesome looking, heck- its
sexy!
Only thing I am going to change is the windshield. Like the Relfex- if
you are
going
to not want to take those wind hits and the noise, you must get a
larger shield.
I am
looking forward to my new GIVI windshield arrving next week.
(I have always purchased my GIVI products from www.midwestcycle.com.
The Majesty products don't show on their online store, just call the
number and Jay can help you).
No more wind hits, hands will be protected and a ride like a
Goldwing!
