| belbobo2's Full Review: 2005 Yamaha Majesty |
I just spent my first weekend riding the Yamaha Majesty 400 and am having a blast. My girlfriend and I traded in a pair of 2004 MZ Moskito 125 scooters for our new bikes. We wanted to get out of town a bit further than we could on the smaller rides. Following the trade, we spent several hours on the Blue Ridge Parkway on Saturday and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The Majesty was outstanding with a comfortable saddle, super storage, smooth ride, fine braking, plenty of power and wonderful handling. It's also just down right beautiful to look at. True, we did notice some turbulence over the windscreen at 45+ mph, but switching to full face helmets eliminated any minor discomfort. The backlit fuel gauge/clock cluster is not too visible, either, with the sun behind the rider. Still, the bikes rode well in every instance. We averaged 69 and 74 mpg for fuel economy, which is only slightly lower than what we ran on the MZ's. There is no comparing the riding experience, however. While the Moskito 125 was loads of fun for short hauls in town, the larger and more substantial Majesty is far superior in every category. We considered "real" motorcycles before we made the decision to buy the Yamahas, but there is no doubt in my mind that the Majesty 400 scooter was the better choice for us. The bike is not well known in this area and people have been coming up to us almost constantly wanting to what we're riding and where can they get one. We could not be happier!
