Pros: Comfortable ride around the neighborhood; great engine.
Cons: Unstable in traffic at freeway speeds and unsuitable for such use.
The Bottom Line: Great for the neighborhood, but stay off the freeway! It's a scooter, not a motorcycle, and it has tremendous wind resistance at higher speeds. Look at the front wheel fairing.

| estatomas's Full Review: 2005 Yamaha Majesty |
I loved this scooter when I first got it. I purchased it new from the dealer and promptly began the break in process, cruising around the neighborhood. The 400 cc engine runs beautifully. The first problem I noticed was that the short windshield creates wind blast in the face for all but the shortest riders. It was inevitable that I head out on the road and try out the machine with a little speed on it, and what began as an enjoyable ride quickly turned worrisome. This is a scooter, not a motorcycle. When I got the machine in the 50 mph range, every little wind eddy seemed to buffet the scooter with more force than I expected. I found myself leaning to keep the scooter in a straight line. I continued to try the scooter on the open road at highway speeds, and I quickly became convinced of its unsuitability for such use. I'm 6'4" and tend to not see things that are below my knee level. When I parked the scooter and finally got my eyes down to ground level, I saw the source of the problem at once. The front wheel, which is really quite small, is enclosed in a wide open, front facing fairing that is large enough to enclose a basketball, and this open fairing is facing straight forward into the wind, acting as a giant basket for catching air and creating tremendous resistance. This front fairing is approximately a yard wide, and most of it is open to the front. That's where the instability and easy susceptibility to wind eddies originates. The bottom line is that the majesty is a great machine for cruising around your neighborhood, but it is a serious mistake to assume that it is suitable for any type of open road use. The engine is fully capable of carrying you at 60 or 70 mph, but if one large truck passes you at that speed on the highway, the wind just may knock you over. Nice scooter, but I took it back to the dealer inside of two weeks. If you only want to travel around your neighborhood it's great, but my advice is to stay off the freeway and out of traffic on it.
