| arcamedies's Full Review: 2005 Yamaha Majesty |
IT'S A 2006 What an amazing bike, my first Yamaha (except for outboards). I've had 14 bikes over 40 years and my last were several (3) Goldwing and a Harley Ultra Glide that I put 15,000 to 18,000 miles on a year. The Majesty handles superbly, very nimble, quick, acceleration is brisk for a 400cc and torque going up steep hills is better than I could have imagined. This scoot is rock solid at 70mph even in a side wind and will pass easily at 55mph and keep accelerating to and above 80mph very quickly. The fit and finish are great and the accessory side spoilers and touring shield make a nice difference. I've averaged 58 to 60 mpg on breakin and quickly after 600 miles got 63 mpg no matter how I run it. The suspension is surprising, solid, stable and dampens very well going into high driveways. Coming back from a 360 mile trip it started to pour. Above 40 mph I never got a drop on me except for my full face Syncrotec helmet and tops of my shoulders. Very nice to have a full bodies scoot with aerodynamic vented windshield. The only addition I made was a gel pad for the seat since I run 150 plus miles for a ride, seat is firm but gel helps someone over 260 and 6'3". The light weight is perfect for throwing the scoot on a versi-haul carrier for my motorhome or Jeep and at under $6000 what more could you ask for in a full bodied cruiser. Yamaha has a very nice product that has exceeded my expectations by three.
I'm past 2400 miles and this is the most fun I've had on a cycle in 35 years. Great wind protection, stability and fuel ecomomy at 70 to 75MPH.
