| b0br0b's Full Review: 2005 Yamaha Majesty |
I purchased a new 2005 Yamaha Majesty Jan 29, 2006, mainly to ride to work. My daily commute is just over 20 miles each way. Living in the Phoenix AZ area, I planned to ride year around. Currently (Sep 9, 2006) I have over 5700 miles on the scooter and ride about 200 miles a week.
Immediately I found in 40 degree weather it needed both the lower wind deflectors and a bigger windscreen. I added a Givi windscreen (2/3 the price of the Yamaha touring one) and the wind deflectors. Provided a much better experience. During our summer weather (100+) I did go back to the stock windscreen for better air flow!
I ride both highway (about 8 miles) and city streets to and from work. The scooter has worked great for both and averages over 60 mpg. Highway riding is steady even at 80 mph. Though I do notice the gusts, they are easily controllable with out the scooter feeling like it wants to change lanes.
I have been riding on and off for over 40 years, and this is probably my most reliable ride ever. I am 58, weigh 145 lbs and am 5'8" tall.
