| c17pilot's Full Review: 2005 Yamaha Majesty |
I live south of the LA area. I bought the Majesty, based on a salesperson recommendation, to commute 80 miles to work each day on the LA highway and as a great way to beat gas prices. He confidently told me the scooter could easily handle the commute each day.
The scooter worked great for a year and a half. Then, while on the highway, the RPM dropped instantly to 4000 RPM and would no longer accelerate past that limit. An hour of back-road driving was required to get the scooter home at the 4000 RPM limit.
Now, seven weeks later and $1200 thinner, the dealer has no idea why the scooter limits the RPM to 4000 RPM. Oh, and the extended warranty I purchased, thats useless also! Apparently, my Yamaha dealer sold me a third party warranty whose rep thinks the scooter is a victim of normal wear.
In conclusion, I hate the Majesty as much as I use to love my Majesty. Yamaha has been useless. Suzuki is my new best friend now.
