I've wanted a Durango since they first came out, but always found the price to high to buy. March 2006, we had to trade in our Jeep Wrangler as it had become impractical for our needs. The best way (at the time) out of being upside down in our car loan was to lease. Let's just say I'll never lease again.
The Durango is very roomy and has Power Ports in the center console and in the rear utility area...very handy for multiple gadgets.
The gas mileage is the worst thing about this vehicle, but you have to expect that from most SUVs. We got the 'cloth' seats which I would not recommend. They are fuzz and lint collectors. Dodge put plastic to use in this vehicle and they should have realized that some places aren't designed to have plastic. The driver's seat already has a crack in the plastic that is obvious when you open the door to get inside.
All controls are ergonomically set and reachable.
I like driving the Durango even with the 6 cylinder engine, it has power and gets me in and out of traffic with no fuss.
Backing up has its drawbacks. There is a somewhat limited vision and with the darkened back windows, at night, it is almost impossible to see people walking near the rear.
