I bought a 2006 Honda Civic Si when they first were released and the car has been great with almost no major defects until now.... granted my passenger seat was replaced because the leather in the back of the seat came out, and Ive had both sun visors literally blow up on me. And to top things off my clutch was replaced as well for a popping issue.
But now Im having issues with the car having premature wear on it. My steering wheel is peeling away and you can see perfectly where I set my hands, the fabric used on the arm rests on the door panels are wearing bad and same with the arm rest on the center consol. My seats are also wearing from just getting in and out of the car.... which after talking to Honda they said that this is due to me entering the car incorrectly.... when I bought the car I never received a manual on how to get in and out of the car. The leather wrap on my shift knob is also wearing like the steering wheel and the shift boot is just chipping away.
After following up with a Honda rep because my Honda dealer ship fought with me over these issues comparing the wear on these items to the wear on my tires (I've never seen a tire and interior shop) and refusing to repair these items. The reason they denied these claims is that there must be several claims before they will repair anything as to show a manufacturers error and not user wear and tear. I was told that the wear on the steering wheel could been caused by excessive sweating or excessive use of lotion which is quite funny due to the fact that I dont sweat with A/C on and dont use lotion.
This Si only has 28k miles on it and still is covered under my bumper-to-bumper warranty.
If anyone has any matching issues with there Sis or other models then please e-mail me so I can gather as much info as I can to show this is a manufacturers defect when I see this Honda rep. My e-mail is email@example.com
