excellent cargo space
Cons: It won't go over 45mph. You must plan your routes accordingly.
Otherwise, NO CONS.
This is my second Ruckus and even though other scoots have tried to lure me away, I came back to my first love. They say "absence makes the heart grow fonder". Well they were right! I longed to be on a Ruckus again and now that I am back on it I realize why I loved it so much the first time around. The thing is WICKED FUN! Though it only goes up to 45mph it gets me where I need to go. I ride mostly on back country roads, access roads, and village streets where the speed limit is up to 55mph. When I cannot match the speed of traffic I ride on the side lane ("like a bike") to get to where I can travel onto a slower route. I have no problems going wherever I want on this. I rode it home from a Honda dealer 40 miles from my home when I picked it up. This included going over a bridge and along a beautiful scenic route and then meandering through some pretty steep hills and country roads. You want to haul stuff? Don't let the comments about "no cargo space" fool you. There is plenty! You can be as creative as you want to be in attaching bags, cases, bungees, etc. to carry home the groceries or whatnot. I would ride this scoot to work as a commuter or ride it on a dirt trail (and I have done so) exploring the woods around my farm property. The fat tires and low center of gravity give you a stable ride. The lights operate as dualies on bright and low and you can safely do some night riding, which is one thing I love to do. The scoot being so lightweight (under 200 lbs) makes it possible to haul it in a truck bed or on a rear receiver rack (they make them for scooters and motorcycles) if you want to take it on vacation. Me? I no longer lust for a "bigger engine". I am content on my Ruckus as it satisfies all my needs as a means for adventure! I can't wait to get up each morning and take it for a coffee run or plot the next outing to the grocery, the library, down to the fishing hole, or even to the local golf course (I carry a kid's bag with 4 clubs). There is nothing like a Ruckus. It is another breed of scooter and it's not for everyone, but I guarantee you once you "catch the Ruckus bug" there is no going back! Get one! I think it will change your life. Oh, yeah, I AM getting 100mpg too. Honda has kept the same exact specs on this scooter since 2006 except color options. It is slated to return for 2011 in black and orange.
