Pros: I cannot say enough about the overall genius of this machine !
Cons: * A little pricey .... * The suspension. I'll install an Ohlins setup ...
The Bottom Line: Don't waste your time shopping if you can afford one. The nec plus ultra of sport touring !

| beemerlove's Full Review: 2007 BMW R 1200 RT |
My 5th BMW motorcycle, this one takes the cake ! It is light, powerful, comfortable, nimble, quick, safe and simply fun to ride. Mmm those brakes ! The cornering capability of this thing is wicked. Crotch riders still scratch their heads. The 27 litre tank makes for long driving without worries; the windshield is truly a charm; the cruise control is accurate and easy to use; the horn would wake the dead (unlike the "beep" horns that are now more prevalent it seems); the gear box is buttery smooth. Do I sound impressed ... enamoured ? Yes ! Oh, and the lights ! PIAAs work like a charm on this already fine setup ! Al in all this bike is a piece of art and though it is not the most powerful and does not have the "sexy" look of a Harley, it is a joy to ride !! My girlfriend is always up for a ride and absolutely loves the comfort of the bike, expecially the heated seats which are a welcome feature in cold rain. All day at 140 Kms/hr is not out of the question - it is a breeze and a joy to do. The boxer does not have the turbine power of the K bikes, but it is lighter and far more nimble I find. That and the growl of the twin make it that much more fun to drive.
