Pros: Excellent handling, gas mileage and time between services!
Cons: Parts are a little expensive and extra warranty expensive but worth it!
This car was my first Honda purchase and will not be my last!!!
I knew I wanted a Honda Accord as our new family car...the truck we had simply was not big enough anymore!
We went into the Honda dealer expecting to get the wool pulled over our faces but we were surprised that the salesman at Honda wanted to sell us the car as much as we wanted it!!
I have had the car for a year now and have put ALOT of miles on it...31,000 in a year ... so I have gotten the feel for it!
I love the durability, GAS MILEAGE and comfort of the car. We purchased a 4 cylinder with the VP (Value Package) model so a basic model with not a lot of bells and whistles but this car passes all the tests.
I can get about 380 miles out of a 13 gallon tank of gas - mixed city and highway driving with top speeds of 70 mph. I ride in this car 5 days a week with my son and he seems pretty comfy in it too! We have his carseat in the middle of the backseat face forward and I am able to reach to the back should he drop anything.
The seats are so comfortable and everything you need is within an arms reach. While our model only has front speakers the radio is still great! Good trebel and good bass mixes!
This car is easy to see out of from all angles and it has a tiny if existent blind spot in the right rear corner! This Honda handles excellently...I drive ALOT of back roads in all sorts of weather and this car never fails to impress me....it can handle like a sports car!
The oil life is almost 4500 miles before you have to change it...the instrument panel will tell you what services are necessary at each interval-it explains what the characters mean in the manual! MY husband is a mechanic and says that a Honda is one of the most reliable cars these days...that makes me feel better about the purchase!
This car was fantastic for putting a car seat in...the anchor is mid center back seat and 2 anchors in base of seat....and the car seat fit the first time!!!
Backseat has plenty of room even for my husband at 6' 2" tall. The trunk has SO much room! Even with the staple of a baby bag and stroller I am able to fit a weeks' worth of groceries and boxes of sodas with room to spare! There isn't too much I have not put in the trunk!
This car also looks great. I think everyone knows a Honda when it passes and you definetly get looks in this car...no matter what model or color!
UPDATE: After reading comments I have decided to take a page out their book and update as requested regarding what it is actually like to drive this car! As most people that drive 200+ miles a day with a toddler and in and out of traffic and back roads...handling is #1! This car really does handle...I mean it holds the lane and very rarely goes anywhere you don't direct it to! It is slightly noisy...For the first time since I have owmned the car I turned off the DVD player and radio and listened and experienced the ride! Some road noise and some engine noise from drive belts turning on and off with the recirulation of the air. No wind noise and no squeaks more importantly! This car brakes well - almost too well...after each service my husband will retighten brakes-as it is a vehicle with all disc brakes and he also blows out any additional brake dust that may interfere with braking. That is when the brakes are really touchy after 100 miles or so they get back to being comfortable. The gear shift is in a comfortable spot too....very easy to rest your hand on while driving! We use cruise control daily and this is the first car I have owned with it....NICE after 40 miles of stop and go!! Never have we ever been broken down .. knock on wood! I can say I have locked the keys in the trunk....it is darn near impossible to break in the small windows on the back doors and don't even try a coat hanger! Good thing we know tow truck drivers with lockout kits-they seem to work!
I really enjoy the feel and functionality of this car. As a MOM I a do feel as though we are safe, as a former office manager in a body shop I can tell you people have walked away from crashes in a Honda at 60 MPH where not even the car was salvagable, as the wife of a mechanic I can tell you he relies on things that are reliable everyday and we would go buy another Honda today or tomorrow or next year! This car has exceeded all expectations I caould have had with "a Car"!
