Once again Honda has shown their ability for engineering and attention to the market. The Honda Fit manages to be an affordable and efficient economy car with the handling, style, and overall fun of a racer. (A Car and Driver article confirms this!) Whether you're cruising along on the highway commute getting great gas mileage or revving along winding roads launching through corners, this car is just fun to drive. The interior styling is amazing for such an inexpensive car, you will not find this kind of attention lent to most of its competitors (especially the American ones). And of course you get Honda reliability plus the fact that it is 100% assembled in Japan. Although the specs might lead you to believe the car is slow, this is not really the case. I got into this car after driving an 01 Civic EX and it actually feels faster despite having less horsepower. This car does not weigh all that much. Of course it is not going to get you great quarter-mile times but it is definitely sufficient for your daily highway merging and overtaking needs. Some people do not like the look of the exterior but I am a big fan, and you will notice that most of the competitors are very similar anyways. And of course you cannot forget one of the biggest features, the Magic Seats which can fold completely down into the floor, split 60/40, recline flat with the front seats, or have the seat bottoms folded up vertically. There is an amazing amount of room for such a small car. I can fit more stuff in here than I could my previous Civic. The CD player plays WMA and MP3 files and is very nice to look at. The gauge cluster is comparable to luxury cars, very stylish. The Sport model features cruise control, AUX input jack for the stereo, alloy wheels, fog lights, body kit with spoiler, paddle shifters for the automatic, and keyless w/ security.
All-in-all it's a fun car to drive, I love every minute of it. What's more, it's about as practical as you can get for the price.
