When we were looking to buy a new car the first place we looked was the Consumer Report. One of their top choices was the Toyota Camry. Since we've never gone wrong with a pick from the Consumer Report we decided to go test drive one.
After arriving at the local Toyota dealership and looking at several models we decided we liked the SE edition best. The SE model we drove was fully loaded with sport leather seats, moonroof, 6-CD changer, MP3 capability, bluetooth capability, manual override and tons of other features. The acceleration was smooth and powerful. The braking was just as sharp. The car cornered very nicely even at higher speeds. The manual override (sport shift) was a nice feature although it does decrease the gas mileage. It's nice to be able to feel like you're driving a stick shift even though not using a clutch with the left food was a little weird.
We have found we can get approximately 400 miles on one tank of gas in the city. We have not gone on any long trips yet so can't really comment on the highway mileage with any accuracy. It is obviously not as good of gas mileage as a 4 cylinder would be but it's not horrible.
The backseat ride is very comfortable and the familiar "hump" in the middle is non existent, making all three back seats even. The truck space is large as well, all sorts of guitars, amps and various band equipment can fit back there as well as groceries and workout gear.
Overall the 2007 Camry SE is a great car and we are 100% pleased with our purchase.
