Love my new CRV

Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Honda reliability, comfortable, functionality, great gas mileage, lots of little well-thought out features
Cons: None
The Bottom Line:

A small SUV meets the needs of an urban outdoorsman like myself to a "T", and Honda's fit, finish, and reliability continue to set the standard.

Although I've only owned my Honda CRV for a week, I'm so crazy about this vehicle that I felt compelled to do my first Epinion write-up. Much has been said about Honda's purported reliability. Mine was one of about 15% of Japanese-made (as opposed to Marysville, Ohio produced) Hondas that are imported so whether that translates into additional reliability projections is anybody's guess. It's great on the highway where I've gotten 30+ mpg and very comfortable to boot. It's also a great around town vehicle and so much easier to maneuver than the Chevy pickup which the CRV replaced. I'd gotten accustomed to the Chevy's 5.3 liter V8 power so I wasn't sure if the Honda's 166 hp four-banger would feel puny, but despite what some professional reviewers have suggested, the CRV has more than ample get-up-and-go. I installed a receiver hitch so that I can use my Yakima hitch bike rack. I initially thought I'd get a Yakima or Thule roof rack but at the age of 58, the thought of hefting kayaks and bicycles above my head is getting far less appealing. Instead I'm seriously considering the purchase of a lightweight trailer which the Honda's 1500 piund tow rating should handle with aplomb. I look forward to many, many years of driving this baby and even bought an extended warrantee to seal my long-term commitment. I bought it at the end of the 2008 model year at invoice price. I really couldn't be happier with the CRV's comfort, functionality, anticipated reliability, appearance, pricing, and economy.
