| golferinfr's Full Review: Mtd 25 Hp 50" Deck Cub Cadet Lawn Tractor with Aut... |
After months of riding this MTD Cub Cadet 25 Horsepower riding lawn tractor I can comfortably write a review about it. There's only one word, "out-standing". Finally MTD is making an valiant effort in keeping with the Cub Cadet tradition of the highest quality and performance with high standards of durability and performance.
A riding mower that you can virtually make a zero turn without making heavy track marks in your lawn. It looks like the front tires are gonna fall off but with the pivoting cast iron front axle and six automotive style ball joints, the steering is much less complicated at even higher rates of speed. Before your mower seem to take off when making turns at higher speeds, but this newly design axle takes most of that away. You still can't think your in a Nascar race when making turns, especially sharp ones.
The 25 horsepower Kohler OHV-Twin V Engine provides a great amount of power like commercial zero turn riding mowers. The only difference with this twin-v engine is that it's quieter than the Kohler Command engine. With this Hydrostatic transmission provides enough torque to do easy slopes. This four bolted transmisson is even easy to perform general maintenance by yourself by taking two bolts out one on the top and the other on the bottom to drain. This maintenance takes about fifteen minutes. The 2.8 fuel tank will give you at least three hours of operation.
The 50 inch mowing deck comes standard, but you can special order a 54 inch deck if you need a little more cutting space. The deck comes with a mulching kit, if you want a bagger system that will cost you around 300.00$ extra. The deck also has a hose hook-up that you can wash the underneath of the deck and blades. The blades are heat treat and very durable even if you by accident hit a rock or two.
This MTD Cub Cadet 50 inch Lawn tractor has many kits extras that you can buy on the side for it. I mention the twin bagger, but you can purchase a dozer blade, rear wheel weights for the slopes, lawn plug aerator, tire chains and a lawn roller.
My experience with this mower has been most enjoying. I received good definition on lawn lines that make your lawn look like it was professionally done. The easy turning even it hard places. The gears are easy to switch and to reverse you have a safety switch you must engage. You must start this tractor in neutral and then gear it to forward or reverse. The seat is has comfort and you can adjust it to six different settings. The seat has a opening at the bottom to allow moisture or rain to drain from the seat. It is a high back seat so you will enjoy the ride better without back problems.
The most important thing to know that MTD is providing a better warranty. It is 3 to 5 year warranty. Three years on the spindles and deck parts and five years on the hydrostatic transmission. Three years on the Kohler engine is provided as well.
I was never a big fan of MTD since buying up a trusted name like Cub Cadet, but I guess it takes a while for a major company to learn that quality, durability and performance is more important to the customers than anything..
Thank you for reading.......
