I have been using the 3M Scotch Fur Fighter system for quite some time, now, and I'm thrilled with it.  The basic premise is that "gripper" sheets can be swept across any upholstery, dislodging any fur adhering to the material.  See this review for information on the system, itself.

The only down side to the system is that the "gripper" sheets don't last forever.  In fact, the manufacturer says they should be replaced as soon as they become filled with fur.  But I actually scrape as much of the fur from the sheets as I can, and reuse them.  I can usually use them about 5 times before they become less effective - either because there is just so much fur trapped in the grippers that I can't remove, or because too many grippers have bent and broken over time.  In any case, at some point, the sheets need to be replaced.

My original kit came with 5 replacement sheets.  Once I used those, I started buying the Fur Fighter Refill Package, which consists of 8 sheets.  At a cost of about $4 for the 8 sheets, this is a low-cost item, especially if you reuse the sheets a few times, like I do.  It's well worth the few bucks, for me to have an easy way to de-fur Kitty's favorite chairs.  And the couches.  And the car seats. 

Each sheet is approximately 4" x 7" which means it's just slightly larger than the Fur Fighter's sweeper surface.  The sheets attach to the Fur Fighter fairly easily.  Simply lay the sheet on a hard, flat surface and attach to the sweeper starting at one end and slowly rolling towards the other end.  The sweeper's surface is covered with a white material which easily adheres to the back of the gripper sheet, similar to how Velcro works.  If you don't line the sheet perfectly with the sweeper surface the first time, it's not a problem.  Simply peel back the gripper sheet, and try again, being sure to line up the edges evenly.  Once you get the hang of it, it's really not a big deal.

In general, I'm happy with how this system works, as the sheets really do a remarkable job.  Filled with thousands of little plastic "grippers" (similar to the hard part of Velcro), the sheets do a great job of dislodging the fur from the upholstery.  The sheets don't "hold" the fur as well as they dislodge it, however.  Sometimes a large wad of fur will come out from the upholstery and end up on the floor.  Of course, it's easy enough to pick it up and throw it out, but it would be better if the sheets held onto the fur as well as they remove the fur.

Still, this is a great way to de-fur the upholstery.  And while it would be more economical if the sheets never wore out, I'm glad they sell inexpensive refill packages.  At least I don't have to purchase the sweeper, itself, again.  Overall, the Fur Fighter from 3M Scotch is a great product, and I will continue to purchase the refill packs.
