I have an older model car with average quality speakers and this player makes them sound fantastic. The crisp clear quality of sound that comes out really just knocked me off my feet.

There are many options on the face plate that makes changing any option on it very simple. There is a bass control that enables the driver to change the settings on it as high as +6 and as low as -6. The +6 is more for a car with sub-woofers (maybe more than 1) and a very high quality system. The -6 setting is more for a very old model car with poor quality speakers that rattle with high bass and take away from the sound quality making it static filled and distorted. This option is great because it makes the same quality of sound come out of both types of speakers. There are many other options for this model as far as changing sound goes but I will only touch down on one more that I use frequently. The fade option lets you fade the sound through your car to any one or all of your speakers. Two of the speakers in my car for example are of high quality and the other two are not, therefore I fade the sound into the two high quality speakers and get crisp clear sound out of them. These many options really benefit the consumer because they help you adjust this player to any type of car and any type of sound system so that you will get the highest possible quality sound out of it.

It is very easily installed, the manual is very lucid in explaining how to remove your current stereo and put the JVC model in. The warranty that comes with it is excellent as well. I am not exactly sure if it is the same for all stores but my warranty for this model is for 5 years, no questions asked, full coverage if it does not work.

Programing radio stations into this model is a breeze. All you have to do is select the radio station then hold down the number you want to be programmed and it's done. There are 12 different pre-set stations so you have your variety of music right at your fingertips.

Cd play is of relatively high quality but it depends more on the car. I do not think SUV's or any type of truck would do well with this model. It would do better with a smaller less jostling ride because it can be sensitive to vibrations. It does do very well 90% of the time going through rough terrain of unpaved roads and/or potholes, but just like any CD player there are those big bumps that would skip just about anything.

The LCD display on it makes for very easy reading. The brightness, size, and clarity of the numbers on it enable the driver to keep his attention on the road after just quickly glancing at the display. This is a great feature for night driving.

Finally the last feature I will praise on this model is the detachable face plate. As always this is a wonderful security precaution that enables the buyer to feel comfortable with knowing his CD player will not get stolen. The handy carrying case with a small foam pad in it to keep it from bouncing around in your pocket is just icing on the cake.
