sparky506's Full Review: Pioneer DEH-1100 Car CD Player
I recently bought Pioneer CD player for my truck. I went down to my local Hooper's store, and browsed around. I told the guy I just wanted a CD player for my truck. Something that will last, but not fancy. He said he had the thing for me. He took me immediately to the Pioneer DEH 1100. It has many presets, great sound quality, and looks great.
First of all, the presets. It has 6 preset stations for FM1, FM2, and FM3. It also has 6 presets on AM1. This is very convienent, since sometimes Dad drives my truck. I use FM1, he uses FM2, and we leave FM3 blank. I don't listen to AM, but he uses those, too.
Next, it has great sound quality. On my factory radio, I would have it up all the way, and it would be distorted. Now, with VOLUME up to 30, I leave it around 20, and it is clear as glass. Another thing I was impressed with was the way it played .WAV files from the computer. .WAV files aren't as good of sound as off a regular CD. The .WAV files played on my Pioneer are just as clear as the radio or a regular CD.
Last, the looks. I really didn't care what this CD player looked like. But, when they installed it, I was really impressed. It lights up, and the numbers light up on the presets, so you can see numbers 1-6 shining through in the darkness.
Overall, this is a great car CD player. I paid $159 for the system itself, $201 installed, including the jack to the Ford radio, antenna, and something to cover the hole where the factory radio was. I have enjoyed
