| ihike's Full Review: Motorola Talkabout FRS 250 (14 Channels) Two Way R... |
Reason for Purchase
How many times have you needed to get in touch with someone nearby? Your cell phone doesn’t work. I had such a experience while climbing in the Sierra Nevada mountains. I was ¾ of the way up my climbing route and the people at the bottom were trying to get my attention to tell me they were leaving and where my gear would be located when I got down. Never got the message!I spent hours fumbling around in the dark looking for my stuff and trying to follow a dimly lit trail, not knowing they had left a light for me. After that I decided I would always have a means of staying in touch.
Talkabout 250
Motorola knew what they were doing when they designed the Talkabout line of two way radios. Appeal to the inner child in us all. Most of us at one time in our childhood had a set of toy walkie talkies. They never seemed to work very well, but we loved the idea of enhancing our play with these nifty gadgets. Well, we are now grown up, but we still play, only now we play in the woods, mountains, lakes. Motorola took our idea of fun and made it reliable communication.
