I got this camera as an ex-demo from an auction and was surprised with the excellent quality of the pictures and sound. The built in flash for taking still shots is good although I use my separate digital camera for most still shots if I have it with me.
Battery life is OK, but maybe this is because I use the 3.5 inch LCD screen which makes a huge difference when compared with those 2.5 inch ones on most other cameras.
I was worried about how big it would be until I got it and realised it was the perfect size and comfortable to hold (its not much bigger than the Sony PC-100, PC-110 etc.)
It is very easy to use for straight recording, and you can make it start up automatically just by opening the screen or viewpiece.
Although it doesn't have Night-shot like in some Sony camcorders (the only feature I find it lacks), you can slow the shutter speed to increase lighting and this works quite well.
The zoom is very good as well with the stabilisation working perfectly even at 200x digital zoom, although the picture gets a little grainy of course.
It also has several effects which can be used during or after filming, like Sepia, Video echo etc. The other fun feature to use is animation, where it takes a few frames and then stops so you can animate things like on TV. Very fun to use and it comes with all the cables necessary for connecting to a PC to get the photos off it etc.
