| werewolf's Full Review: JVC GR-DVL9500 Mini DV Camcorder |
Recently I decided to purchase a digital camcorder for a vacation that I would be going on. After looking at many camcorders at various places, the JVC GR-DVL9500U was my final decision. It has more features than most, and the movies and photos that it took for me were great. Even in a boat that was bouncing around, the stabilization was a lot better than I would have expected.
Although I have not had the opportunity, or the need to use all of the capabilities of the camcorder, the features that I have used worked very well. The manual is quite easy to use and understand, but a video showing the functions as well as their usage would be very helpful. There are a variety of accessories which serve to enhance the camcorder even further.
The camera is quite easy to operate, and the 3.8 inch screen is great, but because of the camcorders size, some of the controls are a little difficult to use if you have big fingers. This is not any great inconvenience though.
One thing I would recommend would be a spare battery. The standard one only lasts about 45 minutes if you are using the screen.
If you are looking for an above-average camcorder with a lot of whistles and bells, then this is a product that should be considered.
