When I purchased it, it was the beginning of the DVDs.
When I received it, it had a small bug: For 10% of the movies, it would get stuck once during the movie, at a transition scene. The work around was to move the movie by 2 seconds and it would resume playing.
I downloaded a new firmware from the internet, burnt a CD and it fixed the small "bug".
The player is easy to navigate with the remote.
It offers, subtitles, multiple languages, different angle positions, Zoom, FFWD up to 32x, RWD up to 32x and both down to 1/8x,...
When paused for a while, brightness will dim as a screensaver would.
When turning on the DVD player without a DVD inside, it gives a nice pop art dark blue picture in the background.
Outputs are:
* Triacs RGB
* Digital optical cable (I haven't used it)
* Digital Audio via coax
* two outputs for Video and stereo Audio (L/R).
* DTS decoder included
My Stereo only supports 5.1 Dolby Surround and that sounds very well as it is.
I use the 3xcoaxs for the picture into the TV and it gives an excellent image.
It also plays audio CDs and CDRs.
I haven't tried MP3, but since it wasn't out then, I doubt it.
For those interested, there is a way to make it play DVDs from zone 2 as well (permanently. Out of the box, it will get stuck in the last configuration -zone1 or 2- after going from one to the other more than a fixed number of times). I haven't tried DVD from zone 3,4 or 5 since I don't have any.
