Cons: Low watts per channel, no clock on the unit, Somewhat expensive
The Bottom Line: Looks cool/Sounds Great. This is an awesome package for small-medium sized rooms. I would not recommend this unit for larger rooms; not as powerful as other units.

I was first attracted to the DAV-S300 because of it's silver finish and compact size. As I looked more closely at the unit, I was impressed by the image & sound quality; as well as the physical integrity of the unit and speakers themselves.
It is very simple to hook up! Sony color-coded all 6 speaker wires and also color-coded the speaker outs on the back of the DVD Player/Amp. This makes it very easy to make sure the system is wired correctly.
I didn't find out until AFTER I purchased the DAV-S300 that it will NOT play CDRs (Video or Audio [.wav, .mp3]). However, it WILL play CD-RWs. I am sure of this because I have done it (by burning a home video onto a CD-RW).
One simple complaint about the Sony is that is does NOT have a clock on the front display! It does show the time of a DVD or CD that is playing, but it will NOT show the time-of-day.
