| bonniesayers's Full Review: 4 Kidz Spalding EZ Catch Ball and Glove 60133 |
We are in the process of going through old toys that are not being utilized during our month long vacation from school. During this process I found deep in the laundry basket of odds and ends 4 Kidz Spalding EZ Catch And Glove 60133. I keep a mesh black bag to the back of the door with all the extra balls that we have, including the one that completes this set.
The ball is white with Spalding listed in red lettering plus two strips of velcro, horizontal and diagonal. The glove has a small loop that you could try to hang on a hook. Since the glove also has a strip of velcro the ball would also be able to sit in the glove for easy access. We have utilized the 4 Kidz Spalding EZ Catch And Glove 60133 both inside the house and outdoors in the front yard. After a few times outdoors I preferred keeping this inside due to weather. The velcro strips on the ball can easily pick up loose threads, particles and hair.
The ball consists of all new materials made in China. I honestly do not know what those new materials are but it feels like some sort of padding and it is easy to squeeze the ball. The ball would not hurt a child but the velcro makes it uncomfortable to touch should your child have sensory issues. The point of this 4 Kidz Spalding EZ Catch And Glove 60133 is to enable a toddler to throw and catch a ball with ease utilizing the velcro. The recommended age group is for three years of age. The glove is a lime sort of green with blue backing with the fingers geared for the first time wearer. The material is not itchy with the velcro piece located in the palm of the glove. The hand can be slipped into the glove or unfasten the velcro back to allow for more room inside and then close up the glove.
Since my boys are fifteen months apart they used this together but it was difficult, as they both tend to prefer using their left hands. My older son wanted to use other balls with the glove but that was hard to maneuver with the velcro in the way. My children enjoyed this many times until the novelty wore off, plus they have outgrown the glove. This ball also enables a child to learn how to throw overhand and underhand without the dangers of hurting anyone indoors or outside. The ball is very lightweight and easy to fit in the palm of an adult hand.
For those families that might have an older sibling in baseball or softball this would be well suited for the younger siblings to emulate and learn as well. If the family goes to major league games this would be nice to have the youngest member bring along to build up the atmosphere and spirit of the game.
With spring around the corner this 4 Kidz Spalding EZ Catch And Glove 60133 would be suited for boys and girls closer to the age of three. Now I realize it would of been beneficial to buy two of these sets for my sons, but they showed more interest in the golf games. I picked our set up a few years ago at Kmart under five dollars.
