Pros: Great for people with space constraints, double VCR/DVD in one unit
Cons: Picture quality not quite as good as stand-alone unit; need good cables!
The Bottom Line: Buy it, especially if you want one unit that can function as both a DVD and a VCR, with only one set of cables connecting to your TV.

| kwsbanker's Full Review: Samsung DVD-V1000 DVD Player / VCR Combo |
The Samsung DVD-V1000 is a great, compact machine that will provide you with hours of entertainment pleasure using both a VCR and a DVD player, built into one unit. This will help save you space (you only need one unit, instead of 2), and for those of you who are less electronically-enabled, you only have to worry about one set of cables, instead of two!
The system is very easy to use, comes with a very handy universal remote (with instructions that actually tell you how to run through everything, including setting up your TV on it). One of the drawbacks to the Universal Remote is that each time you want to use it for either the TV or the unit, you have to actually remember to push the button corresponding to the unit you want to operate (i.e., if you want to use the TV, you first have to push TV, otherwise you may just end up turning on the VCR/DVD player instead of the TV!).
This unit is easy to operate, and I highly recommend it to anyone who has a space constraint, or just wants to have one unit operate more than one function. The cable hookup in the back is fairly easy to figure out (again, with good directions provided), and there are optional jacks in the front of the unit as well (anyone want to hook up their camcorder and play through that - or copy onto a VHS through that, it works as well).
Happy watching, everyone!
