Pros: High quality, plenty of power, tons of features.
Cons: User manual is poorly written.
The Bottom Line: Want 6.1 now? Buy it. Willing to wait? Something better will come along very soon.

| rab5649's Full Review: Denon AVR-3801 7.1 Channels Receiver |
Ordered on-line for best price. Easy to set-up and use. Some of the advanced features are hard to use because of the poorly written user's manual. Very heavy unit. Has powered side AND rear surround channels. Some manufacturers are making units with 6.1 output but the rear channel is not powered (need a separate amp).
I use it in a dedicated home theater. It drives a set of 8 Klipsch spears beautifully. The speaker terminals are a little too close together. Hard to connect but you usually only do this once so....
I have had problems with Denon products in the past (CD players) but so far this unit seems to work fine.
