| wineguy89's Full Review: Blaupunkt Malibu C50 Car Cassette Player |
I wanted to upgrade my original stereo but since this was a twenty year old car, I was limited in the number of units that would fit in the space available. I did a lot of research and selected the Malibu C50.
The unit came with everything I needed to install it, but the instructions were basically nonexistent, just a lot of pictures. It took me several days and several attempts to decipher these hieroglyphics, but finally got all the wires connected properly. I was astounded at how perfectly the unit fit the existing space. It was as if it were custom made for the car.
The C50 takes a good bit of study and practice to get proficient with its operation. You have to sort through a number of menu sublevels to setup all the different settings.
While I am not wild about the graphic display, the C50 is loaded with convenient features. I particularly like the ability to play the unit with the ignition off.
I attached the unit to a CD changer and the sound quality is fabulous. The radio reception is good, but a little thin; however, that probably is related to the age of my antenna.
